Cataphoresis

Overview
The Piroux Group operates several cataphoresis lines in France and Romania.

Cataphoresis is a technique that provides long-lasting protection against corrosion. It combines chemistry and electricity to deposit a thin coat of paint, 15 to 40 microns thick, with a high degree of uniformity. The parts are then cured in an oven at 180°C.

How does cataphoresis work?
- Traceability: Receipt and identification of parts lots.
- Mounting parts on brackets.
- First bath: removes traces of grease and welding residue.
- The next three baths: wash and rinse the parts.
- Part treatment through conditioning and phosphating.
- Final rinse, preparing the parts for painting.
- A bath in which the current deposits paint onto the parts.
- Rinse to remove excess paint.
- Curing in an oven at 180°C.
